Hauling down to the south

Hello out there!

It pulled me quite down, that the lady doesn't feel to travell with me any longer. But, that was obviously like it was supposed to be.
Here I go again on my own... (like Whitesnake said in the early 80's already)

The last weekend I changed the battery and did some maintance and service work. I claered the car inside, so now I'm having enough room to haul my furnitures and the other stuff.

This weekend my best friend helped me out to clear my appartment. We started in Herforst with a borrowed trailer in the back of my "Bully"  :-)

It got me only up to 80 km/h on the Autobahn; that results in an seven and a half  hours drive instead of four hours. But like I said early, I won't be in a hurry...

Tommorrow I will have cleaned my appartment totally and afterwards driving back home in the Eifel. Jippeeee.....
And then the time has come to start working in and outside of the car! I guess the following pictures will be more impressiv..

zuerst eine traurige Nachricht! Meine Reisebegleiterin ist abgesprungen. Sie meinte ich sei doch nicht der geeignete Reisepartner für sie. Echt sehr schade!! Aber wer weiß wofür es gut ist. Das Einzige was ich weiß, ist, dass sie nicht mit fährt... (Gruß an Bernd Böse und seine Ex-Frau!)

Das vergangene Wochenende habe ich hauptsächlich mit Vorbereitungen verbracht. So habe ich Verschleißteile und alles für Wartung (Öl- und Dieselfilter, Keilriemen, etc.) in großen Stückzahlen eingekauft. Auch habe ich genügend Farbe zum kompletten Neulackieren bestellt. Aber wie ich ihn lackiere wird noch nicht verraten :-)
Diese guten Lampen habe ich auch noch erstanden! Nur ob sie nicht zu viel Aufsehen für potentielle Langfinger erwecken??

Bei diesem Foto ist mir die „Feinstaubplakette“ meines Autos aufgefallen. Nach einem Blick in die Papiere ist die Schadklasse mit Unbekannt angegeben. J

Die letzte Woche habe ich außerdem ein Notstrom-Aggregat gekauft, eine Herdplatte bestellt und mir zwei groß dimensionierte Batterien zugelegt. Mit freundlicher Unterstützung unserer versierten Elektroniker habe ich mir erklären lassen, mit welcher raffinierten Verschaltung ich die Batterien so verbinde, dass ich immer genügend Saft habe, um den Motor noch starten zu können. Echt clever, oder!?  Vorübergehend habe ich allerdings noch eine normale Autobatterie eingebaut, da die eingebaute doch nicht mehr wirklich viel drauf hatte…

Während einer ausgedehnten Spritztour am Nachmittag habe ich dann diesen Zeitgenossen mit seinem tollen Mobil vor mir gehabt, der es scheinbar auch schon verstanden hat, worum es geht!

Hier noch ein kleiner Blick in die aktuelle Residenz meines Reisemobils. Gut beschützt von den starken Freunden rund herum. Vor allem der V12 im Hintergrund macht mächtig Eindruck... ;-)

So Freunde kann’s gehen. Jeden Tag kann sich alles ändern. Aber ich nehme es gelassen, da ich denke, dass ich nicht wirklich lange einsam sein werde. In so vielen Internetforen finden sich reisewillige und –suchende; da wird bestimmt auch noch jemand/e dabei sein der es ein Zeit mit mir aushält ;-)

Als nächstes steht nun mein Umzug von Rheine in die Eifel an, bei dem ich den Bully als Umzugsmobil benutzen möchte. Und dann kann es endlich richtig los gehen mit den Vorbereitungen. Endlich wieder schrauben, flexen, bohren, schweißen und und und (vielleicht auch etwas arbeiten…)

Hi Folks,

this time I'm going to make a post in English, so that all those who are not so confirm in German can interpret what my intension is and the schedule for the near future!
I bought this little and smart vehicle a few months ago and admitted it just a few days ago. You can see it at the new bright shinning license plate.

My plan is it to travell with a friend of mine at the beginning of April across Europe, maybe  part of Northern Africa, as well! It was quite a great coincidence that I met her in a train in middle of the last summer while I was driving back home from Frankfurt to Rheine. But who knows the truth about coincidences...? :-)

However, our time schedule is to start at the beginning of April from Germany towards France Spain and Portugal down to Gibraltar. And than we will see. The big plan will be, to make no plan!! Maybe further to Italy, Croatia, Greek, Turkey....
My bus is right now parked at the straw barn of my local custom contractor down in the Eifel. Thanks a lot for the support Mr. Manfred Lotzkes!!!
Within the next two months I'll try to take most of the time to prepare the car and make it ready for the big trip. Put a mattress inside, a refrigerator, small hot plates for cooking and some other stuff what I'm  thinking about that it'll be necessary...
I already tried to find a good parking spot to work underneath the car.

I couldn't get on top of the trailer, because the back hitch hooked up into the dirt :-(
But I guess it'll work out well that way!
I started removing the back seat and some other stuff out of car and finally tried to put in a different seat that I got from Krone. But it is too high and I won't have enough space between the steering wheel and my legs.

But in Germany we say "Was nicht passt, wird passend gemacht" and so will I do!
Finally I asked the local carpenter for some help to face the inside of the car and he aggred. Jippeee!! Put some nice wood plates inside and some shelves.
I think that's it for today....
