Slowenia - bikers paradise

Hi Folks,

I found bikers paradise on earth here in Slowenia!! And like O.W. Grant said "It get's greater..." :-)
I stayed three nights in Retece close to Skofia Loka at Ursa and Kleman, a wonderful CS-couple!! Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of us together.... :-(

I spent two days driving around the Northwest of Slowenia. Postojna, Idrija, Tolmin, Bovic, just to name a few cites. Curves, Curves and even more curves and way less traffic than in the other countries I've been so far! Awesome!!!

Here some impressions...

On top of  a wonderful passo with endless tiny and winding curves!

All around there are these woodened buildings, which I couldn't explain myself the purpose of.  But finally...

... found out, it's for drying (amd maybe keeping) the hay.

 

The region between Bovic and Tolmin is very famous for it's water sport activities. You can do rafting, kajak or canyoning. But I was so faszinated by riding my bike that I skipped this. :-) But it's still on my "things to do once in my life" - list.

What I really like here in Slowenia is, that suddenly regular concret roads are able to turn into sandy and gravel roads!! :-) Very very nice!!

So far, I only knew the slogan "Everything is bigger in Texas!" But obviously it also counts in Slowenia...

I just ordered a regular cheesburger and could not eat it all! I would like to know what a gigant burger is look like here... ;-)

Right now I'm sitting in a cafe here in Ljubljana. I figured out that Slowenia is a very very nice place to be and the people are very friendly and helpful all over! So totally the opposite of, what most of the Germans are thinking and I'm very glad I found it out myself and so I will go on travelling further....
